Good spot, on this gas station we were just asking people around to Marseille direction.―Anonymous

Not so busy, we tried to ask people for Nice / Marseille direction. A Swiss older couple on Tesla took us before Nice, above Monaco. From there it was easier because we were finally in France. Good luck.―Anonymous

I didn't think this was that good a spot, because there was barely any traffic and nowhere that good to stop. But, then I got picked up in 8 minutes... In the evening when it was dark―Anonymous

Worst spot ever no one stoped after more then 5 hours and even worse in the evening some French people started throwing rocks at me and i was feeling very unsafe.―VitekOliver

Honestly I've been lucky to find someone in 10mn for Monaco. It's a very tiny place with very few cars and if unlucky I'm sure you can wait hours―Anonymous

Two guys with sign to Monaco. There’s bus stop where car can stop so pretty good place. Maybe also good for getting to Italy from Nice.―Slocrowth

I'm backdating this story because I initially missed it when doing my trip write-up.This is the only service station servicing Monaco, for that, it seems quite promising! It's a bit of a quest to get to though, first, a bus will take you most of the way out of Beausoleil; after which you need to walk up a motorway service road and hop a fence. Not too good, not too bad. It'll do.
The sun was getting ready to set when we started hitching, our sign read “Italia” but the evening traffic wasn't looking promising. We weren't too bothered, however, because the views were fantastic, and it looked like a wonderful place to camp!
Right as we turned round to walk into the woods for the night, we heard a horn honking behind us! Five older Brits on a jolly outing to Italy! They gave us a very entertaining lift to Alassio, where we proceeded to find a place to spend the night.
If hitching from here, I'd strongly recommend not accepting anything that isn't to at least Sanremo. The Italian police don't like hitchhikers at the best of times, let alone those that get stuck on a border toll booth with no pedestrian access.

According the man who dropped us off, an Antibes local, this is the best spot for getting out. The stream of cars is constant, and we barely had to wait five minutes with our “Nice” sign for a man in a van to pull up and offer a ride, he even gave us a free Nice tram pass, before dropping us off at the tram stop, and telling us exactly what stop to get off at for the old town (T2 to Port Lympia)―Paquito

just ask people on the traffic light if they drive out of town, if you don't wanna waste time taking a bus outside of town!worked pretty good at this spot here, so would be interesting if you give it a try―Anonymous

Same as the other two. Bon Voyage bus stop. But zoom in on satelite view and look at this marker. If you are heading West just walk a ways next to the on-ramp (past the overpass) and you´ll see a great spot where there is a perfect shoulder for cars to pull off for you.―Anonymous
